DIABLO III Players ferbided Update

Play nice, and play fair, and keep on giving those demons hell!

Over the last year, we’ve issued frequent rounds of account bans for cheating in Diablo III, and we’ve just issued another.

While we may not mention each round of account bans when they occur, we have and will continue to monitor Diablo III for exploitative behavior and take action as needed in order to help preserve the integrity of the game.

As a reminder, we do not permit the use of hacks, bots, or other third-party software in conjunction with Diablo III. While many of the programs intended for use with the game are actually cheat programs and automation programs (“bots”) that exploit Diablo III’s mechanics and provide players with an unfair advantage,”third-party software” also refers to any file or program that attempts to:

Obtain information about Diablo III that’s not normally available to the player
Transmit or modify the Diablo III game files

Provide access to features or abilities beyond what is allowed by the game’s design
Change how Diablo III interacts with Battle.net

As we’ve noted before, using this type of software not only undermines the spirit of the game, but can result in a permanent ban — and no Nephalem wants to be remembered by their dishonorable deeds within Sanctuary. Not only that, but third-party programs can cause nasty technical problems, game-related bugs, and stability and performance issues with Battle.net . . . all of which can greatly impact your gaming experience as well as the gaming experience of others. This is why it’s important for us to make sure that players battle the forces of the Burning Hells on their merits, with an unaltered game client.

Play nice; Play fair.” It’s one of Blizzard Entertainment’s core values, and it’s something we take very seriously.

DIABLO 3′s detailed PvP Duels In Blizzard Update

Blizzard Entertainment’s upcoming v1.0.7 patch for Diablo 3 will add PvP duels to the game — not Team Deathmatch though — and a new post on Battle.net describes how it will all work. All duels must be initiated by conversing with Nek the Brawler at the inn in New Tristram. After speaking to him, all players in the party will be transported to the Scorched Chapel, a new zone created specifically for duels.
diablo 3 beta
The Scorched Chapel breaks up into four different spaces: the church itself, a graveyard, a nearby river, and a lake. Duels will support up to four players in free-for-all combat, meaning it’s every adventurer for him or herself during these fights. There’s no scoring and no rewards structure for these duels; as Blizzard explains, the intent “is to provide players a safe, opt-in location where they can fight one another for bragging rights (or maybe science) without the potential for griefing as it existed in Diablo II.”

Anything that diminishes the amount of griefing that occurs in the world of video games is a noble endeavor. Unfortunately, there’s no word in the post on when v1.0.7 will go live.

Diablo 3 getting paragon system

Diablo 3′s upcoming patch 1.0.4 will add a Paragon System with “Paragon Levels.” These levels can only be accessed after you max out your Daiblo 3 character at level 60.  The system will address magic finding gear-swapping and letting gamers continue their character progression.

Here’s how it works, straight from Blizzard’s mouth:

After you hit level 60, any further experience you earn from killing monsters will begin to count toward Paragon levels
There are 100 Paragon levels
Every Paragon level will reward you with:
Diablo 3 Preview - New Traits System, Revamped Runes, Skill Shuffle, and the Talisman!
Core stats such as Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, and Vitality in amounts similar to what you’d gain from a normal level
3% Magic Find and 3% Gold Find

In addition, a distinctive increasingly-impressive border will surround your character portrait in the in-game party frame to denote your Paragon progression, with a new frame earned after every ten levels. Your Paragon level will also be visible to other players wherever your normal level is shown.

What do you think of the Paragon System?

Diablo 3 Plans Cut DOWN Team Deathmatch

Blizzard had been planning to add a Team Deathmatch PvP option to Diablo 3 in a coming update, though a new blog post from lead designer Jay Wilson confirms that the mode has been officially shelved. The big issues seem to be the mode’s lack of depth and the fact that classes are tuned and balanced for PvE play first.Diablo 3

As Wilson writes, “our core problem is that our Team Deathmatch mode doesn’t feel like a great addition to Diablo III. It’s not up to the quality that Blizzard gamers expect or that we feel you deserve, and it doesn’t really fit with our goals for the rest of the game.” The mode has been shelved entirely as a result, and the team is “going back to the drawing board” to work on a TDM “replacement.”

That replacement, along with the still-confirmed 1v1 dueling — coming in patch v1.0.7 “sometime after the new year” — will be completely free additions to the core game.

Diablo 3 console controller

Here’s an overview of how Diablo 3 will play on the consoles.

It was recently announced that Diablo 3 will be released for Xbox 360, PS3 and PS4, much to many action role-playing gamers’ delight. The chance to play the game without requiring an internet connection has many fans already drooling in anticipation. No need for an always-online connection also means no lag, something PC gamers have suffered from since the dawn of time (or at least the dawn of high-speed internet) when other gamers were using slower connections.

Every button of the controller is mapped to an attack or skill, and easily replaced using a radial interface if so desired. Battle is a breeze, as nobody playing the demo had any problems beating monsters down. The addition of a dive-roll makes evasion a snap, so you’re no longer a sitting duck holding in the direction of a baddie.

Inventory control has been made easier by the elimination of a large amount of junk loot. There isn’t as much non-magic, and therefore useless, armor and weapons being dropped from fallen enemies, so you’re not spending half of your post battle time trashing everything you didn’t intend to pick up.

Of course one thing possibly holding console versions of Diablo 3 back from superiority over the PC version is that games like this are limited to the buttons available on the controller. PC has always enjoyed the full QWERTY keyboard for control over its games, and you can’t put that many buttons on a hand-held controller without it turning awkward. Thankfully, Blizzard thought that through ahead of time.

If you’re planning on playing co-op Diablo 3 with a second player in the room, the full-screen inventory UI will put a damper on things, as only one player can have it open at any given time. The console inventory controls have been redesigned, since the controller makes the drag-and-drop style that PC gamers enjoy impossible.

All in all, Diablo 3 has been retooled for the use of any console controller, making the gameplay on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PS4 a breeze.

Are you excited to play Diablo 3 on your console? Does the controller transition bother you?

Diablo 3 New Blizzard Project

Wilson offers zero hints as to what his attention is turning to now, though he does promise that fans can expect the same level of commitment as a new director steps in in Diablo 3. “We have lots of things planned for the future, and those plans will carry forward as normal. I also won’t be abandoning the team, and will remain available to them during the transition period while we determine who will take over duties as game director,” he writes.
